Anna was the youngest child of King Agnarr and Queen Iduna of Arendelle. She was second in the line of succession at the time of her birth, behind Elsa. In 1842, as a result of Elsa stepping down from the throne as she devoted her time for the people of Northundra, Anna ascended the throne in a royal ceremony. Anna married a Sámi ice harvester and mountain man named Kristoff Bjorgman on the same year, their relationship having initially being controversial due to his status as a commoner.
