Untergangers

Untergangers are people who make Downfall parodies on YouTube. Unlike other YouTubers who only make Hitler parodies for the sole purpose of commentary, untergangers do it as a hobby and for the lulz, as well as considers it as their lifestyle. Characters in an unterganger's parodies are self-aware, and they tend to to have a defining personality (for example, Otto Günsche is the bunker idiot, Hans Krebs love maps, and Hermann Fegelein is a prankster) which collectively defines a distinct universe from their real life counterparts. An unterganger's channel is also typically dedicated to parodies.

The term comes from Der Unterganger, coined by Bossimias, derived from the fact that most untergangers primarily use clips from the movie Downfall (Der Untergang in German). The feminine form, untergangerin, is coined by PiretBCN.
